Real Cocktails: Mimosa

Real Cocktails: Mimosa | OUR NOURISHING ROOTS

Mimosa is the hallmark of fancy brunch drinks.  Who doesn’t want an excuse to sip on champagne in the late morning?  And it doesn’t hurt anything that it’s so delectable.  Sweet, slightly effervescent, and refreshing.

I’m partial to using a champagne coupe for the occasion, but you can also use the more common champagne flute.  See the difference between the two here and here.

If you’ve read my book, you’ll know that I am very partial to champagne coupes, not just for this drink, but for anything you normally might put into a martini or cocktail glass.  I just love the feel and look of them.  Perhaps it’s my inner Daisy Buchanan coming out.*  Or perhaps it’s just that it’s the best glass ever for cocktails.  Just sayin’!

*This is good, too!

Equipment Needed:

2 ounces fresh orange juice
4 ounces Champagne

  1. Pour the orange juice into a champagne coupe or flute.
  2. Add the champagne.
